Oriental Stencils: Male FU DOG (Two Layers)



Imposing Fu dogs (stylized lions) statues are placed at the entrance of important buildings to guard the grounds and the people within. The female Fu Dog stencil is usually portrayed playing with a lion cub representing nurturing and the cycle of life - This male with an orb completes the yin-yang balance of protection.This male Fu dog is based on one guarding the Yonghe Temple in Beijing. This temple is the most renowned Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside of Tibet. When entering this Temple visitors are given joss sticks to burn. The air surrounding the grounds and buildings is highly scented as a result.
